Pile is built to respect your attention and your data. We collect only what we need to provide the app, keep your account working, and respond when you ask for help.
What we store
- Account details such as your email address, display name, and sign-in method.
- Your tasks, notes, projects, tags, saved views, comments, and related activity.
- Password hashes for password accounts. We do not store plaintext passwords.
- Session and password-reset tokens needed to keep you signed in and secure your account.
- Support messages or bug reports you send through the app.
- Analytics events such as page views, clicks, form submissions, URL, referrer, viewport size, locale, and anonymous user/session identifiers.
- Basic technical logs needed to operate, debug, and secure the service.
How we use it
We use your data to run Pile: showing your tasks, syncing your account, authenticating requests, sending password-reset messages, answering support requests, improving reliability, and preventing abuse. Pile has no ads and does not sell your personal data.
Service providers
We may use trusted providers for hosting, database storage, email delivery, and Google sign-in. These providers process data only as needed to provide those services.
Your choices
- You can update or delete tasks and other content in the app.
- You can request account deletion and removal of associated task data.
- You can ask privacy questions or request help with your data.
Security and retention
We use reasonable safeguards to protect your data. We keep account and task data while your account is active or as needed to provide the service, comply with law, resolve disputes, and maintain backups.
Children
Pile is not intended for children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can remove it.
